You may be eligible to participate in a study to see whether a new type of inhaler may provide benefit. The results from this study will also be used to help better understand the best treatment options for patients with asthma.

Dr. Sidhu (MD, CCFP) is a family practitioner, long-term care clinician, and assistant clinical professor of family medicine at McMaster University in Hamilton, with a special interest in women’s health and palliative care. She is study doctor at BV Medical in Niagara Falls, where she is participating in clinical evaluations of investigational treatment options.

Study Summary

The study, called KALOS, is for people with asthma whose symptoms are not fully controlled using their current inhaler treatment.

The study will see whether a new type of inhaler called BGF MDI may provide benefit to people with this type of asthma. The findings from this study may help people diagnosed with asthma in the future.

Taking part is entirely voluntary. Participants can leave a study at any time and for any reason.

You may be able to join the study if you:

  • Are between 12–80 years of age
  • Have been diagnosed with asthma for at least 1 year
  • Have been using the same dose of ICS/LABA* inhaler medication every day for at least 4 weeks

If you are interested in signing up to participate, Dr. Sidhu and her team staff will guide you through a screening process to see if you quality.
